Though the loss of London proved to be a stronger blow to her spirits than Peggy believed it could be, she hadn't allowed herself much time to wallow. Not with the arrival of a rather unexpected but happily recieved gift, vain though it might seem to others, and the promise of something new to begin with Steve.

Sso she'd welcomed the return of warmer weather happily, focusing on eradicating any nerves she might have at the thought of her date with Steve -- and failing, at times. There hadn't been much time for nerves when she'd first fallen for him; all focus had been on the war, and they'd both known they couldn't fit each other in until it was all said and done.

But this was different, and as far as Peggy was concerned, there was no better time.

She'd spent more time than she'd ever care to admit preparing for their dinner date, while fighting back uncharacteristic nerves. Her hair was done up as it always was, even though she'd settled for a more modern dress than she was used to. It wasn't until the moment Steve knocked on her door that she managed to bite back the nerves for good and, finally, found herself filled with a spark of excitement.

When Peggy opened the door, she felt much like a ridiculous teenage girl going out with a boy for the first time as she smiled at Steve. "Hello."
